Our Board of Directors
Connie Ptolemy
Connie has been a member of the CMHA Board of Directors for the past two years. She believes that mental health is extremely important, and felt membership was a good opportunity to give back to the community she so enjoys.
Connie is a Registered Nurse and has achieved her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BScN). She has worked in public health for most of her career, with a short stint in hospital nursing. Early in her career Connie worked as a General Public Health Nurse for the Lambton Health Unit (now known as Community Health Services Department, County of Lambton), and, in this capacity, has completed most aspects of public health nursing - including teaching prenatal classes. For the past twenty years plus, Connie has worked in Sexual Health, in clinical areas, and in education both in the schools and in the community. Education is an area that she loves working in!
Connie has just recently accepted a position of Supervisor of Environmental Health and Prevention Services, and will be supervising the areas of Sexual Health, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Blood Borne Diseases, along with some work in Pandemic Planning. She reports being very excited about this new challenge.
Connie is happily married, with two adult children (a son and a daughter) and a son-in-law as well. Her personal interests include home remodeling, gardening, reading, a “very poor game of golf”, and spending time with family and friends. Connie and her husband have also begun to do some traveling, and hope to do more as well.
